Directives of PNG NICTA (National Information and Communication Technology Authority) require all subscribers to register SIM cards. Apart from it being a mandatory requirement, registering your SIM card allows you to safeguard your SIM card and will ease verification for SIM replacements at a later date.
Visit a SIM registration point closest to you. Remember to bring your ID card along and the phone together with the SIM card that you wish to register. Fill in a form SIM registration and submit it to the agent.
The agent will then capture images these following information:
- The SIM Registration form;
- The Valid ID Card (Passport, NID, Driver's License, Work ID)
- The Individual (a photo of you as the owner of the SIM card)
It is a regulatory requirement. We must have some form of ID and we have made the list of applicable IDs as wide as possible. If you do not have an ID, a letter from a reputable person will suffice. We are unable to provide a sim card without an ID or letter.
